Mark Hayes directs this US documentary which follows members of a running club based in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles as they battle to turn their lives around. The futures of many people in Skid Row are changed when a criminal court judge starts a running club which is open to criminals, the homeless and addicts. Determined to make something of their lives and escape their troubles, a number of runners dedicate themselves to their training and are able to go on to compete in marathons around the world.
