Rent Smash (2012 - 2013)

Smash is an American drama series about the men and women involved in bringing a brand new musical to the bright lights of Broadway and all the fights and backstabbing involved in the climb to the top. The series follows Karen Cartwright (Katherine McPhee), a young aspiring actress who auditions for the role of Marilyn Monroe in a new musical. What follows is a series of struggles by both Karen and the rest of the team to make the show work, to fight off competitors and to show people that a musical about a tragic figure can work.
