A wonderful trip back to the 80's awaits anyone who picks up Son of Rambow. The recreation of the Vietnam classic plays an important part in proceedings, but Jennings ensures there's plenty more going on. So those dreading a high bodycount matched with tons of violence will be pleased by their ommission.
Both of the young leads while apparently inexperienced are terrific. You'll spend plenty of time remembering your own youth and surroundings as this story unfolds. It is charming, funny and touching, clearly one of the best UK films of recent times.
it was a nice trip back into the 80s but i found a very very story line all in all i found the film a waste i did-not stay to the end
Lovely tale about children's magical imagination. beautiful pace aand atmosphere, woefully underused director.
