Rafael Belvedere (Ricardo Darin) is at a crossroads. He is 42 and with no apparent direction in his life he recollects the days when he wanted to resemble his fictional hero, Diego de la Vega. The childhood days of when he put on the black cape and the mask are now only but a distant memory. He feels that he can't fulfil the expectations that life brings him. He has no motivation, has a divorce behind him and lives for the restaurant his father (Hector Alterio) founded. He can't even sacrifice time to watch his daughter, Vicky (Gimena Nobile) growing up. His life begins to have a new meaning when he meets again with childhood friend Juan Carlos (Eduardo Blanco) who, despite having a personal tragedy on his shoulders, will help him in a particular way to reconstruct his past and recover his present. Along the way, he'll support his father to fulfil his mother's dream: get married in a church.
