- It's 1974 in the Midlands and Joe (Martin Compston) and his best friend Russ (Alfie Allen) are stuck in lives going nowhere. Then, Joe meets Jane (Nichola Buxley), who introduces him to a whole new world of all-night dancing at the Wigan Casino. Before long Joe finds himself caught between aspiring artist Mandy (Felicity Jones), and Jane who is already involved with Alan (Craig Parkinson- Control), the undisputed king of the Northern Soul dancefloor.
