- Carol Bolton and Andrew Lawton have been in love since junior school. Neighbours and soul-mates, things should be perfect. Unfortunately, life has dealt Carol a raw deal. She lives hand-to-mouth on Sparkhouse farm with her drunken, abusive father Richard. The secrets that have been buried among the chaos of the family home at Sparkhouse farm are working their way into the open. Andrew's parents plot and scheme, using knowledge of a terrible secret to drive a wedge between the young lovers. The years pass and with everyone and everything against them, Andrew and Carol seem fated to be apart. But with passions flowing so strong, can anything dam their love?
