Richard Wagner called love "the most beautiful of all dreams". Stephan Marki's vision of 'Tristan and Isolde' takes us on a journey into the universe, where Isolde perceives Tristan resurrected, "shining among the stars", as Wagner writes. The expressive team of singers is led by the heroic voice of the tenor Bryan Register as Tristan and the celebrated Bayreuth soprano Catherine Foster as Isolde. Annika Schlicht makes her charismatic debut as Brangane, while Andreas Japel powerfully portrays Tristan's friend Kurwenal. Dimitry Ivashchenko's profound bass marks the tragedy of King Marke. The outstanding production was created for the stage of the State Theater in Cottbus, which music critic Wolfgang Schreiber voted "Opera House of the Year" 2023 in the magazine "Opernwelt". He also awarded it stage design of the year and praised Marki's and Fiirhofer's "interstellar vision of the world of Tristan and Isolde"-
