On April 7th 1999 - 6 weeks prior to release - fans started queuing at La's Mann's Village and Mann's Chinese movie-theaters to guarantee themselves opening-day tickets to the first Star Wars film in 16 years. Filmmaker Dennis Przywara stood in line with these fans for 42 days capturing their anticipation and the rivalry that developed between the 2 lines for Star Wars Episode 1. Inspired by the passion of these Star Wars devotees Przywara then put out the call for more examples of the kind of people he had started to call Starwoids, and they showed up in force! From rabid collectors of official merchandise, and a girl who's painted her car like a battle-scarred x-wing; to the fans who want to gatecrash Skywalker Ranch, and a guy that D.Js dressed as Boba Fett: the full range of Star Wars fanatics are here, proving that fact can often be far, far stranger than science-fiction.
