Synopsis:
Collection of eight TV performances by the New York City Ballet recorded for the Bell Telephone Hour between 1959 and 1966. Included are performances of Barber's 'Souvenirs' starring Janet Reed and Marian Horosko, Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker - Grand Pas de Deux' and 'Allegro Brillante', and 'Stars and Stripes' by Sousa starring Melissa Hayden. Also featured are works conceived and choreographed exclusively for the Bell Telephone Hour by choreographers Matt Mattox, Gene Nelson and Robert Pagent. These comprise 'Circus Ballet', 'An American in Paris', 'Young Lovers' and 'Wild West Dance'.
