- Synopsis:
- Four young people are thrown into a whirlwind of change and new opportunities. The year is 1969 and the Norwegian city of Stavanger is in crisis. Then the biggest underwater oil discovery is ever made. It will be the start of Norway's oil adventure. The oil discovery sets off a rapid social development that will have major consequences for the four young people - and for the rest of Stavanger. In Lykkeland we follow Anna Hellevik, Christian Nyman (Amund Harboe), Toril Torstensen (Malene Wadel) and American Jonathan Kay (Bart Edwards) through the first Klondyke years until Statoil's formation in 1972.
