Synopsis:
Narrow gauge railways have a long tradition in the Alps and were built there because of lower construction costs and because of the difficult mountainous terrain. This video offers an overview and shows three of these lines. Each of these railways leads through a marvellous landscape, with different engines that were all built during the turn of the last century and are still in operation today. Come with us on a journey through time in the scenic landscape of the Alps and enjoy the romance of steam.
