Stephen King's Golden Years is a fairly good story of an aged janitor caught in an explosion during a botched experiment, which results in the aging process being reversed and him growing younger, he and his wife are then pursued by a top secret government agency known as "The Shop". In the usual three part mini series format this is a story which would would have worked pretty well, the problem is even cut down from the original TV run's seven episode six hours running time, this heavily edited DVD version still clocks in a an epic four hours long. There's very little action, very little suspense, overly long scenes filled with meaningless dialogue and the result is an ultimately dull and unfulfilling experience. Even if you're a die hard Stephen King fan you may want to think twice before renting.
