These episodes from series three of the classic comedy were broadcast in January and February 1964. By this point the antics of the trapped 'young' would-be sophisticate and his grimy, manipulative father were required viewing up and down the country.
1. Homes Fit for Heroes Harold (Harry H. Corbett) plans to sail the world, but if he can't get his dad in a home he can forget Polynesian beauties and sun-kissed beaches.
2. The Wooden Overcoats Harold's storing five unused coffins in the house, but Albert (Wilfrid Brambell) would rather spend a stormy night with Hercules the horse.
3. The Lead Man Cometh A chapel-goer from the valleys arrives with a ton of lead at a knock-down price. Harold jumps at the opportunity; surely a man of God can be trusted?
4. Steptoe a La Cart Harold's French girlfriend is beautiful, charming and, when Albert reveals his wartime secret, a good deal 'closer' to Harold than he thinks.
5. Sunday for Seven Days Harold's choice of Fellini's 8/2, isn't exactly Albert's idea of a Friday night trip to the cinema. So the old man's out to wreck the evening.
6. The Bonds That Bind Us Albert's Premium Bonds windfall finds him eating at the Savoy, drinking with dolly birds at swanky Soho clubs and getting engaged!
7. The Lodger! Albert is taking in a lodger. As the breadwinner, Harold is insulted, he's also ashamed at the capitalism and, most of all, he's dreading sharing a room with his dad.
