As every Welshman knows, the lifeblood of the country is in fact the red of the national team, and the spirit of the nation rises and falls with the success and failure of their heroes. The Story of Welsh Rugby, presented by Jonathan Davies is interspersed with interviews from Dai Smith, Vivien Jenkins, Clive Rowlands and Robert Jones and traces the ebb and flow of the Dragons from the foundation of the Welsh Rugby Union in 1881. Featuring the epic 13-12 victory over the All Blacks in 1935, and Cardiff's even more remarkable victory in 1953 ending with the captain Bleddyn Williams being carried off the pitch on the supporters shoulders. We also see the most important five and Six Nations' victories including Watkins incredible try to defeat France 9-8 and clinch the 1966 Championship and Wales incredible 25-43 victory against France in 2001. This exciting and informative programme follows Wales' resurgence under the inspirational Graham Henry who led the team to nine consecutive victories against the likes of France, Italy, Argentina and then the World Cup holders South Africa.
