- Synopsis:
- Myra Hudson (Joan Crawford), a successful Broadway playwright rejects Lester Blaine (Jack Palance) as the lead in her new play. Later in a chance meeting on a train bound for San Francisco, Myra meets Lester, is swept off her feet, and after a brief courtship, marries him. When Lester learns Myra is writing her will and leaving her vast fortune to a foundation, he schemes to get his hands on the hefty inheritance with the help of his deceptive ex-girlfriend Gloria Grahame.
