After leaving her day job as Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart's) assistant at CatCo Worldwide Media to take stock of her life and plan her future, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) continues to work with Hank Henshaw and her sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), at the Department of Extranormal Operations. There, she can be her true self - Supergirl - using her ever-increasing powers to protect National City while searching for her missing father, Jeremiah, and the secret research lab, Project Cadmus. Along the way, she teams with her Kryptonian cousin, Kal-EI - aka Superman - to battle new DC Universe villains. A teen romance yarn, with elements of superheroism... - Supergirl: Series 2 review by JS
I'm still enjoying this show, but getting a bit tired of how much of each episode is taken up by the romances, gay and otherwise. How is it that DC can make movies that are almost works of art, but their TV shows sometimes leave you wondering whether their target audience consists mainly of 14-year old girls?
But while we're not being subjected to the angst of Supie's love life or sitting through the show's heavy-handed determination to show 'inclusivity', the storyline is still pretty good.
