Jennifer Finally Delivers - Surveillance review by CP Customer
Jennifer stepped out of her fathers shadow, David Lynch, to direct her debut film in '93, which was Boxing Helena. Such was the widespread criticism that she only now returns to the directors chair with Surveillance. Thankfully the film is more mainstream even as a low budget thriller. Yet even then Surveillance contains those undercurrents and twists that define her talent. The premise follows two FBI agents as they investigate a multiple killing. Investigating the survivors and local cops. Slowly but surely, the pieces start to fall into place, but not as you would expect. And its this suspense and finale that really pushes Surveillance to another level. Helped by two startling leads in Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond, this is already one of my best films of the year.
