Synopsis:: When her lover abandons her, pregnant Sharada is left to raise her child on her own - a task made more difficult by India's social structure, which condemns Sharada and her illegitimate daughter, Swati. Years later, a grown-up Swati is eager for her mother to be happy and encourages her to wed a compassionate, upstanding man … but it seems fate may have other plans.
