In a community which values boys over girls, Gugan, a feisty Indo-Canadian girl sets out on a collision course with her traditionally minded mother when she gets pregnant out of wedlock - with triplet girls!
With her mother in meltdown and her ever-so-slightly alcoholic father more concerned with concealing his naughty secret, Gugan's impending motherhood becomes the scandal of the year and divides her neighbourhood in two.
