Sy Smith rose to fame in the late 1990s when she sign a recording contract with Hollywood Records and is often referred to as The Underground Queen of R&B and Soul. On December 30th, 2006, Sy Smith performed a live show at Santa Monica, California's prestigious Temple Bar, with her live 9 piece band, Deez Nuts, Sy put on a show to rival most of today's pop artists. Without all the fanfare, fireworks and fake publicity, Sy's raw skill and honed talent blew away her largest crowd to date at the Temple Bar. With funny, witty and introspective backstage footage, we see life in the eye of an internationally known underground soul singer at her best. Comedic, light and heartfelt the viewer sits right next to Sy and listens to her explain herself, her music and her influences while also walking the walk with her while she talks the talk. 'It's almost like I was at the show!' Turn up the volume, sit back and go to the Temple Bar...and witness a great night in music. Featuring music from her Syberspace Social Album, as well as special guests, HipHop artists E Reece and soul singer Raheem DeVaughn, we also get a tribute to James Brown and a Go-Go inspired spin on the classic Billie Holiday Good Morning Heartache.
