Top lawyer Richard Flett is shot through the head in his car after a late dinner with his partner Charlie Muir and client Simon Turner, the MD of building company Arcadia. Ross discovers there was a fourth man at the restaurant with the three men but can the Taggart team find the guns, the killer and the identity of the mystery fourth man?
Puppet on a String (2005)The team are called to the hospital where an enraged Dr. Mellor is having treatment after being attacked by an assailant carrying a lethal syringe full of drugs. Mellor is adamant that the man responsible is one of his colleagues Dr. Finn. When word comes from the hospital that Mellor has discharged himself, Burke and Reid go to his house to talk to him. When they get there he's dead...The team step up the investigation to hunt for the killer, but their skills are pushed to the limit when a macabre discovery sends them in a completely different direction.

The corpse of squeaky-clean librarian Todd Campbell is found at the wheel of a car dumped in the Clyde. There is evidence that the vehicle has been stolen and involved in a hit and run. Burke begins to investigate but is devastated when he is suspended due to charges of sexually inappropriate behaviour being levelled against him. The team vow to continue with the case and to clear his name.
