Taj Mahal has been recognized for almost 4 decades now as one of the most eclectic and adventurous musicians working in popular music. He is a master of any guitar styles - from finger-picking country blues, bluegrass and calypso; through to R & B soul, and rock. Whilst respecting the traditions of the past, Taj Mahal has always made it his duty to forge ahead into new musical territory, and his career has been one of almost perpetual artistic growth and evolution. Here he is at his best at Ronnie Scott's in 1988 back by his international rhythm band, showing why he is considered to be one of the most influential and acclaimed creator and reinterpreters of the best of American popular music.
