Rookie inspector Fiona Griffiths (Sophie Rundle) has a brilliant mind - and a secret history of mental illness called Cotard's Syndrome that has left her with a deep and peculiar empathy for the dead. This makes for a highly committed, sometimes erratically behaved young policewoman. It also makes for a mixed-up emotional life, an occasional violent streak and a past that holds secrets she must face. Fiona often feels compelled to walk the path alone, with the occasional help of her mysterious friend Lev (Jens Hultén), who brings his own distinctive brand of advice; her solid but concerned mother; and an estranged father with his own shady past. Set in Cardiff, Wales, the TV movie is based on a crime novel by British author Harry Bingham. Viewers will be captivated by this new heroine of screen.
