- Joe Pantoliano gives a brilliant performance as Al Benjamin, a New York tax investigator who goes deep into the underworld of the Russian Mafia to track down millions of dollars in tax fraud. Joining Al is Romero (Wade Dominguez), an NYPD patrolman desperate to make a name for himself. Soon the two find themselves swept into a vortex of mystery, intrigue and murder. As the investigation continues, Al becomes obsessed with his informer's beautiful daughter, Nadia (Elizabeth Berkley).
