Harvey Keitel plays an ambitious young music producer (Buckmaster) whose job is to seek out new talent and produce hit records. Unfortunately, Buckmaster is surrounded by desperate shallow-minded record executives with a "quick buck" mentality and little ability to recognise true talent. Whilst in the middle of recording an inspirational up-and-coming act, The Group, played by Earth Wind and Fire, Buckmaster is forced to divert and concentrate all his efforts on a talentless trio called The Pages. The pressures and corruption of the recording industry begin to weigh him down and ultimately force him to make crucial decisions impacting the success of The Pages and The Group. In what may be one of the greatest ironies of American cinema, the soundtrack of this fascinating movie about an untrustworthy record industry ultimately launched Earth Wind and Fire into stardom. Featuring the soundtrack from the top selling Grammy winning album from 1975 by Earth Wind and Fire, including the timeless songs 'Shining Star', 'Reasons' and the title song 'That's The Way Of The World'.
