On the surface Henrik and Nina Christofferson (Sofie Gråbøl) are an ordinary family living happily. But they have a problem. Their daughter, Stine, a difficult 14 year old, has a habit of telling lies in class. Sad and slow - The Accused review by JD

Spoiler Alert
10/03/2015

The pace of the film is slow. It is essentially about a father accused by his daughter of paedophilia and so the build up is reasonably measured but there really is no need for dullness. It could have been much more dramatic especially given the calibre of Sofie's acting potential and the intensity of the material. The directing let it down badly given the storyline which had drama written through it like a stick of rock, I almost dozed off in parts. To conclude: brilliant acting, sickening plot, dreadful directing.

An intriguing depiction of love, lies & friendship. - The Accused review by DW

After watching, I wanted to have someone to discuss this absorbing film but I live alone!

Plus points too many to mention but so nice to have no swearing & an insight into the Danish legal system (which I hope was true-to-life).

The story's impact didn't become fully clear until the last few scenes.

Terrific.

Well presented. - The Accused review by BE

A broody and tightly focused movie on a father accused, by his daughter, of paedophillia.  Some of the scenes are lengthy but they draw you into the dynamics between the mother and father and, eventually, their young daughter. Seamless acting with little or no intrusive background music.
