- Francois Villon (John Barrymore) is a renowned poet partiot prankster and occasional criminal. Banished from Paris after playing an April Fool's Day trick on the Duke of Burgundy (Lawson Butt), Villon stills finds a way to serve France, protecting King Louis (Conrad Veidt) from the devious Duke.
