Yves Caumon directs this French drama following the spiritual awakening of a lonely young woman played by Sandrine Kiberlain. Anne (Kiberlain) appears to be an inveterate loner. She lives by herself on the top floor of an unglamorous block of flats and engages minimally with her colleagues at the restaurant where she works as a kitchen hand; one of the chefs,Raphael (Clément Sibony),is firmly rebuffed when he makes an attempt to get to know her. Any liaisons with other people must be purely on Anna's own terms, such as the cinema-goer,Claude (Serge Riaboukine),she takes a liking to when watching a Mizoguchi film. However, when a persistent banging noise draws her to the attic above her flat,Anne may be on the verge of discovering something that will change her outlook on life forever...
