- The Blacklist is an American television series, with themes of crime, drama, action, and thriller. Premiering in 2013, the series follows Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Keen (Megan Boone), a rookie profiler who finds her life getting more complex with the introduction of Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (James Spader). A highlight of the FBI’s notorious Most Wanted list, Red makes an offer: he wants his freedom, in exchange for helping them find criminals they didn’t even know existed.
