- A murderer, Edward Jarrit (Clifford Buckton), is brought into a mental health institution to be tested by Dr. Philippa Roberts (Elizabeth Allan) using an electro-encephalograph - the remarkable machine that can reveal abnormalities within the brain. At the same hospital, a man suffering from amnesia is questioned under the influence of a drug; he reveals his name and states that his life is in danger. After examining him on the 'brain machine', Philippa is alarmed to find the results are identical to those of Jarrit...
