- Synopsis:
More drastic changes are afoot in the penultimate series of the popular BBC One Sunday soap. Edward (Patrick O'Connell) is focused on family matters as wife Jennifer (Jennifer Wilson) battles to keep their adopted baby, whose natural mother has had a change of heart. Hammond Transport Services is expanding into France, where David (Robin Chadwick) is dazzled by man-eater Therese d'Alambert (Frangoise Pascal). Paul Merroney (Colin Baker) wants Edward to start pulling his weight as MD, and tries to get Bill Riley (Derek Benfield) to talk him round. Jane Maxwell (Kate O'Mara) senses trouble when a private jet brings an overseas speculator onto the scene, who duly makes an unwelcome offer for the company. Merroney sees off the bid, but calls a special shareholders' meeting to propose a merger with Dutch concern Van der Merwe. - Actors:
