In this BAFTA award-winning series, choirmaster Gareth Malone is a man on a mission. He believes Britain's schools are bursting with untapped singing talent and he's determined to prove it. He wants to take a group of untrained school kids and form a choir with the aim of entering them for the World Choir Games in China. Gareth's chosen Northolt High School, an everyday comprehensive with an everyday mix of children ranging from the somewhat motivated to the extremely unmotivated. Are they likely to want to join a choir? And sing classical music? In a foreign language? These are just a handful of the challenges Gareth faces, along with naturally rebellious kids, some of whom will need more inspiration than others. But - as they take part in an emotional year of shocks and surprises, challenges and rewards - they will share a dream they never knew they had; discover more about life than they even knew existed; and experience what will literally be the adventure of a lifetime.
