- Synopsis:
- Based on the novel by Chaim Potok, this is a story of friendship and faith. Two Jewish friends grow up together in New York between the Normandy invasion of 1944 and the founding of the Israel state in 1948. The father of one is an ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jew, while the father of the other is a secular scholar. Gradually, the two boys come to appreciate what the other's way of life can teach them.
