BBC drama based on the famous wartime diary of Anne Frank (Ellie Kendrick). Anne began her diary on her 13th birthday in June 1942 just two weeks before she and her family were forced to go into hiding from the Nazis in occupied Holland. Over the next two years she wrote a moving, feisty and often surprisingly funny account of her short life that has since inspired millions. It is an intimate portrayal of a normal family living through the most horrifying times who still manage to maintain a sense of hope. Anne's father Otto is played by Iain Glen; her mother Edith by Tamsin Greig; and her sister Margot by Felicity Jones.
