The 'Bentinck Hotel' in London's St James' - a unique blend of fine hotel, club and maison de plaisir, in which the rich and famous can go about their business away from the prying and disapproving eyes of Edwardian England. But when a journalist joins the staff in disguise, and publishes a damning account of bawdy behaviour, could Louisa Trotter possibly be about to lose everything she's worked for? But Louisa, as always, has other things to think about. Like cooking a sturgeon dinner for the Ascot set, on location, without any staff. Not to mention the Servant's Ball and a missing head housemaid. And what does a suspicious young flower girl want with the ever so dandy Lord Charlie Haslemere?
