Australian television drama about the true story of a group of German Jewish refugees who are deported from Britain to Australia at the start of the Second World War. Worried that some of them might be spies, the refugees were sent off even if they had been living in Britain for years. Bob Hoskins plays affable fishmonger Morrie Mendellsohn, who helps keep the refugees together once they reach Australia, and who managed to teach the natives a thing or two about Jewish culture.
