Bing Crosby was hired to host a live music extravaganza o n CBS Television shortly after For unveiled the Edsel motor car after years of hype and hoopla. Joining Crosby were old pals Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney , and Louis Armstrong with a "surprise" visit by Bob Hop e who were all at a peak in their careers at the time, and "The Edsel Show" telecast was one of the highest rated an well regarded programs of the year.
