Re-packaged version of the first Live film from 70's Masters of Prog The Enid! Early Recording from March 2nd 1979! This is a re-packaged version of the Hammersmith video, with new artwork. In the week before this concert took place, PYE Records decided to have the show videoed. The video was shot by Trillion using five cameras. Audio was recorded by Virgin Mobile, and the soundtrack has survived and is remarkably good. The original individual camera tapes were wiped by Trillion after PYE decided not to pursue a video release. All that remained of the video was a rough mix of the show done on the night by the video company who had no idea of what to expect.Video footage used on this video is a recently discovered VHS copy of that rough and the visual quality is what you would expect to be given the circumstances. This video contains the whole show with the exception of Francis Lickerish's intro to Fand and Albion Fair which for technical reasons on the night was not recorded. In September 2014 The Enid's founding member Robert John Godfrey received the Visionary Award at the Progressive Music Awards, along side other highly reputed artists such as Fish and Peter Gabriel.Godfrey has also enjoyed a Top 100 position in the Classic FM Hall of Fame for the last 3 years with his romantic composition The Mirror of Love. The video will be promoted on the road throughout 2015, including a special UK tour of seated theatres where the band will be performing a seamless theatrical spectacular The Bridge Show. Upcoming festivals include the largest UK Prog Rock festival, HRH Prog 3. Festival appearances also include Giants of Rock Festival (UK) and Prog Dreams (NL). A selection of popular standing venues will also be visited throughout Summer 2015.Since his early work as Music Director for heritage bands such as Barclay James Harvest, conducting orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall, and assisting the production of Pink Floyd albums at Abbey Road Studios, Godfrey built The Enid to become a vehicle for his own compositions. The Enid is best remembered for work such as In the Region of the Summer and something Wicked This Way Comes.
