Synopsis:
This volume contains seven of Chaplin's legendary early films as follows:

Mabel's Married Life (aka Charlot Et Le Mannequin)
Charlie leaves his wife, Mabel (Normand), because he's jealous of her attentions to a prize fighter. She, on the other hand, is angry because Charlie didn't knock the fighter down. After a night of drinking Charlie returns home to a boxing dummy that beats him up.
Laffing Gas
Charlie is an assistant to a dentist. He quarrels with the other assistants, then accosts the dentist's wife, causing her to lose her skirt. As the dentist comforts his wife, Charlie takes it upon himself to care for his patients.
Face on the Barroom Floor
Charlie burlesques the poem about a skidrow bum who had been a famous artist before his wife left him for another man. He tells the sad story in a saloon to get another drink. In the middle of a fight he begins to draw on the floor.
Recreation
Sitting in a park, Charlie admires a picture of a girl on the cover of the Police Gazette. Depressed at the fact of his lack of a real girl he prepares to drown himself until he spies a girl approaching. Unfortunately, she's got a sailor suitor, but Charlie hurls bricks at him.
The Masquerader
Charlie is a movie actor, but pays attention to the girls and not the director. He misses his cue, spoils the scene, gets to the wrong set, and is finally fired. He's then hired back as a leading lady when he returns to the studio dressed in drag.
The Good-For-Nothing (aka His New Profession)
Charlie is hired to wheel an invalid around the park. He begins work, but soon thinks he should be paid more, so he puts a beggar's sign on the old man.
The Rounders
Charlie and Fatty Arbuckle are out on a drinking binge. Upon returning home each, is given a hard time by their wives. As the wives bicker, the men gather all the money they can find and slip out again to disgrace themselves some more.
