Sonia "Sunny" Jacobs - A young mother and her husband are wrongly convicted of killing a police officer. After spending years on death row, she is finally exonerated and released. For her husband, it was too late, he had already been executed. David Keaton - An 18 year old man is sentenced to death after being coerced into confessing to a murder he did not commit. Kerry Max Cook — A young Texan man is convicted of rape and murder and endures 22 years on death row until DNA evidence proves his innocence. Gary Gauger - A farmer is sentenced to death for the murder of his parents after being persuaded by interrogators into confessing. Years later he is released after it is determined there was no physical evidence linking him to the crime. Delbert Tibbs - An all white jury convicts an African American man of rape and murder. The sentence is eventually overturned for lack of evidence linking him to the crimes. Robert Earl Hayes - An African American man is convicted of the rape and murder of a white woman. He is sentenced to death despite evidence of a long blond hair found clutched in the victim's hand.
