When a father or mother or any of their children get sick in most West African Countries, the first thing they do is seek the advice of a soothsayer or what is often called a witch doctor. More often than not, the witch doctor will diagnose the cause of the illness to be a result of one of the children of the family being a witch. And so then the father and mother usually turn their wrath on such a child. These children can be as young as 6 years old. Once a child is held responsible for either sickness or tragedy or misfortune befalling members of her own family, this helpless child is excommunicated, abused and abandoned to stop the misfortune from continuing. In worst cases these children are humiliated, murdered or killed. All of this is of course based on ignorance, fear and lack of education. This film wants to shed more light on this tragic practice that breaks families apart and destroys the lives of affected children.
