- Synopsis:
- John Neville and Susan Hampshire star in this wonderful dramatisation of the lives of John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough and his wife Sarah. A military genius, John met Sarah Jennings at the court of King Charles II (James Villiers). He rejected his family's desire to marry for money in favour of the young Sarah. Her honesty, wit and devilish temper coupled with her political ability made her a good match for the ambitious and talented John who soon became renowned as a shrewd diplomat and great strategist.
