It is October 1950 and UN forces have crossed the 38th Parallel marking the beginning of the invasion of North Korea from the South. During a particularly vicious enemy assault, a decimated U.S. Army tank platoon fleas in retreat and two tanks find themselves isolated from the rest of the company. Corporal William Bryne (Randy Ryan), a young idealistic enlistee, is thrown into command of the stranded tanks after the death of his platoon officers. Hopelessly outnumbered and fighting against unseen enemies and diminishing morale, he leads the stricken tanks across an unfamiliar landscape in search of hope and allies. Death, dissention and a wounded North Korean P.O.W. test William's resolve to breaking point but he must find it within himself to lead the beleaguered crew of "Cowboy 2" back into battle.
