The Foundation of Criminal Excellence (2018)

Oskars Rupenheits directs this Latvian black comedy about a screenwriter who immerses himself in the life of crime in order to research his latest script. After the success of his romantic series, screenwriter Imants (Lauris Klavins) is commissioned to write a crime series but knows very little about the criminal underworld. To gain more knowledge he enlists the help of his friend Harijs (Andris Daugavins), who is desperate to become rich whatever the cost, however, the hapless pair soon finds themselves out of their depths and in genuine danger.
