The Russian-made Grasshopper is based on a story by Anton Chekhov. The characters are divided into two camps: A group of artistically inclined "butterflies," and a team of stone-serious scientists. The film tries to prove that the phrase "Wasted Time" is relative. The artistic types squander their waking hours with idle dreams, while the scientists sap their precious time with too much work.
