In 1940s Kenya, following the death of Lord Erroll (Peter Sands), Sir Henry Delves Broughton (Denholm Elliott) is charged with murder after it comes to light that Lord Erroll was having an affair with Delves Broughton's wife, Lady Diana (Amanda Hillwood). Delves Broughton's only hope rests on 15-year-old Juanita Carberry (Holly Aird), the daughter of Broughton's friend John (Michael Byrne), who is said to know the truth behind the murder.
