- While holidaying in Britain, exchange students Bill (Richard Lyon), Ronnie (David Rose) and Ingrid (Liliane Sottane) visit Ambrose Castle, the 14th-century home of the impoverished 12th Earl of Ambrose (Jack Allen) - reputedly haunted by the Fourth Earl (Clive Revill), and Malcolm, the Headless Ghost, who lost his head leading a rebellion. Ronnie, who plans to write a story based on the visit for his college paper, persuades fellow-American Bill and the Danish Ingrid to hide with him in the castle, in order to spend the night investigating...
