The ITV Sessions Asia: Live in concert DVD, is one of the first titles released from the ITV Sessions, a multi-part music concert series, featuring some of the biggest names in the UK music scene from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The ITV Sessions feature rare and previously unavailable music concerts, long laying dormant in ITV¿s archives and include live performances and studio sessions by international hit-makers such as Status Quo, Belinda Carlisle, Pulp, Motorhead, Wishbone Ash, Spandau Ballet and many more. Asia, formed in 1981, was labelled a supergroup and included former members of veteran progressive rock bands Yes, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Uriah Heep, U.K., Roxy Music, Wishbone Ash and The Buggles. When they appeared in the early '80s, Asia seemed to be a holdover from the '70s, when progressive rockers reigned supreme. Asia did feature stretches of indulgent instrumentals on their records, however, they also could be surprisingly poppy and that is what brought them to the top of the charts with their debut album, Asia, and its hit single, Heat of the Moment.
