Born poor in St. Louis, Missouri, Josephine Baker (Lynn Whitfield) achieved fame and fortune through her sizzlingly exotic, erotic performances. Starting life on the American Vaudeville circuit, success takes Josephine to Paris where her semi-nude dancing causes an international sensation.
