On a tired ranch, amongst the dry, desolate West Texas frontier known as Hell's Half Ace, two young boys secretly witness the brutal killing of their father, Samuel Hancock by a gang of ruthless marauders. While the bandits loot and burn their homestead, the eldest brother hides his sibling and attempts to fight off the scavenging killers. In the process, the boy is kidnapped by the marauders and forced to endure a life of torture, molestation and thievery. Amidst the smouldering ashes of his family's home, the younger brother is found and raised by a Mexican priest. Thirteen years later, the leader of the marauders, Charlie Ledbetter and Horace Merrywell attempts to live respectable lives operating Ledbetter, a mining town of the Texas-Mexico border. The barrenness of Ledbetter has grown forgetful of their once evil past. Addicted to morphine, void of human emotions and near death, the now grown boy, the Morphinist has not forgotten. The Journeyman is a beautifully shot, action-packed, spaghetti-style western that uses the ruggedly vast vistas of West Texas as the backdrop for this classic tale of good and evil.
